Constitution of the Farmington Historical Society, Inc.



I.          The name of this organization will be “Farmington Historical Society, Inc.”

 

II.         The purpose of the Farmington Historical Society, Inc. will be “To develop, promote, preserve and protect the historical heritage, culture and spirit of our community.”

 

III.        The Board of Directors of the Farmington Historical Society Inc. will be made up of seven elected members at large, of whom they would elect their own officers, which would include a president, vice president, secretary and treasurer.

 

A.  The President will conduct meetings using Robert’s Rules of Orders.

 

B. The Vice President will conduct meetings in the absence of the President and assist the President.

 

C.  The Secretary will keep records of the meetings.

 

D.  The Treasurer will collect the dues and disperse funds, and make a report at each meeting.

 

IV        Membership of the Farmington Historical Society Inc. will be open to any individual who wishes to join the Society. Annual dues will be assessed to maintain membership.

 

V.                Meetings of the Farmington Historical Society Inc. will include one annual meeting plus a minimum of three other meetings during a calendar year.

 

VI.               Amendments to this constitution will be allowed by two-thirds of those present at the annual meeting.
